JANE V. KIDD
As the daughter of former Georgia Governor Ernest Vandiver and the grand-niece of Senator Richard B. Russell, Jane Kidd grew up in Georgia politics. She hit the campaign trail in 1972 for her father's US Senate campaign, and won her first election at age 27, when she was elected to serve 3 terms on the Lavonia City Council. Later Jane managed a campaign for Congressional Candidate, State Senator Don Johnson and upon his election, served as Congressman Johnson's District Director. Jane was elected Chair of the Democratic Party of GA in January of 2007. Prior to being elected Chair, she served as a State Representative from Athens and ran for the State Senate in 2006, despite a Republican redistricting designed to keep her out. As Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia, she has continued her record of standing up for working families.



MICHAEL THURMOND
In 1978, Thurmond returned to Athens to practice law and took an active role in the city's civic and political affairs. In 1986, he became the first African-American elected to the GA General Assembly from Clarke County since Reconstruction. While serving in the General Assembly, Representative Thurmond authored major legislation that has provided over $200 million in tax refunds to GA's senior citizens and low-income working families.In 1994, Governor Zell Miller called on Thurmond to direct GA's transition from welfare to work. He created the innovative "Workfirst" program, which has helped over 90,000 welfare-dependent families move into the workforce, saving GA taxpayers over $200 million. Thurmond was elected Labor Commissioner in November of 1998. He currently serves as the 1st Vice Chair of the GA Democratic Party.




PAGE K. GLEASON
Page Gleason has been involved in Georgia Democratic politics for over 15 years. Page was an active member of the Young Democrats of GA where she served as Programs Chair and President of the Fulton County Young Democrats and Political Director and Executive Director of the Young Democrats of GA. As Political Director, she developed and implemented the Issues Campaign, which won the Young Democrats of America's Program of the Year Award in 2005. As Executive Director, Page helped to author the proposal to the Lewis Family that resulted in a $250,000 grant to the Young Democrats of Georgia. Page was a Founding Board Member of GA's WIN List and served on its board for six years. This year, Page was elected President of the Board of the Red Clay Democrats. She is currently serving a second term as Executive Director of the Fulton County Democratic Party, as well as a second term on the State Committee of the Democratic Party of GA. Page was the recipient of the 2007 James Earl "Jimmy" Carter National Democrat of the Year Award from the Young Democrats of America.


RICHARD RAY
Richard Ray has a long history of service in Union positions, including his more recent terms as President of the American Flint Glass Workers Union Local #6 ('80-'83), President of the Atlanta GA Labor Council AFL-CIO ('83-'90), Secretary Treasurer of the GA State AFL-CIO ('90-'99). He is currently the President of the GA State AFL-CIO. Richard has also served on a number of Democratic and community boards and committees, such as the DNC, the Governor's Workforce Investment Board, the Advisory Committee, GA State Labor Department, the Labor Studies Program Advisory Council/GA State University, and the Atlanta Regional Health Forum. Richard is a recipient of the Max Cleland HOPE Award, the 2007 Young Democrats of GA Murphy Award, and the GADCC Richard Russell Public Service Award. He is a member of the Henry County Democratic Party, as well as the State Executive Committee of the GA Democratic Party.



SALLY ROSSER
A lifelong Democrat, Sally Rosser has supported Democratic candidates and ideals from a very young age. Sally has served the State Democratic Party in a number of roles, including fundraising, field efforts, committees, and sitting on Gov. Barnes on the Governor's Task Force for Safe Kids. In her capacity as Vice Chair for County Party Chairs and Congressional District Chairs, Sally has focused on county party building and organizational support. She also serves as President of the Board of the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children Foundation and sits on the boards of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University Advisory Board and the Goshen Valley Boys Ranch. Sally is active in her congregration at Redeemer Lutheran Church.




DAVID WORLEY
David Worley graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1980. After two years as a congressional aide, he attended the University of Virginia School of Law, where he won the Johnson & Swanson Award for excellence in written advocacy and was a member of the National Moot Court Team. He earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia in 1985. A partner at Page Perry LLC, Worley concentrates on corporate securities and complex consumer litigations. Worley has served as Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Sections of both the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association, and as Co-Chair of the Federal Legislative Developments Committee of the American Bar Association's Committee on Labor and Employment Law. From 1998 to 2001, Worley served as Chairman of the Democratic Party of Georgia. He is a former Democratic nominee for the United States Congress, and a delegate to four Democratic National Conventions. He is currently the Democratic Party of Georgia’s representative on the Georgia State Election Board.
